Online Learning Schedule for Google Classroom

Here the schedule starting Monday April 20th, 2020!!!

If you missed the site distribution this week, district will be collecting any extra devices and distributing them next week.

Technology Update!!!

Here is the schedule for device distribution for those who requested a device:

Seniors: Wednesday, April 15 1-3pm
Juniors: Thursday, April 16 10am-12
Sophomores: Thursday, April 16 1-3pm
Freshmen: Friday, April 17 10am-12

We will be distributing loaner devices in front of the admin building during your scheduled time if you have requested a device.
Bring your school ID and we will check out a device to you.
Remember, SB County Public Health order, everyone participating in device distribution must wear a protective face covering as well as practice physical distancing.



Please pay attention to phone calls that will be going out this week on when and how you can pick up a device. We will ONLY be distributing devices to those who signed up with our link.

Google classroom workshop!!!!

SBCUSD Family Engagement invites you to Google Classroom Overview online workshop. Learn how to support you child with distance learning. Message regarding Assignment Packets!!!

1) I am starting to get questions about packets not being received in the mail. SBHS created individualized packets for each student (which means that we took their schedule and provided work from each teacher they had). This means there is no generalized packet to hand out if you did not receive it. Here are a few pieces of Information and tips to try if you have not received your packet.

1. Do not try to call the school since we are not in the office. We are working remotely (or on a specific project to support our students).

2. Email your teachers. All of the teachers are now online and can get you what you need. Message me if you need help with email addresses.

3. Remember - the work from now to the rest of the year will only HELP your child and not hurt them. It is important to continue their learning but the packets were quickly created by teachers.

4. Our teachers miss their students and look forward to helping them and are ALL available remotely.



2) We just sent an email to all the emails we have on file for our families with the link to request tech. We are determining need to be able to access google classroom. Please complete the form only once with your need so we can plan the best, safest distribution of devices.

3) AP and honors students who do not engage in the learning for the remainder of the year will not be prepared for next year's Honors, AP or college level work. Please remember that the learning is more important than the grade so if you already have an A, please do not stop in your pursuit of learning and preparing yourself for the future. 

 

4) Great News!!!!  Promise application is reopen from tomorrow April 10th to April 13th at 11:59 pm. This application is open only for Valley College during this time. Any students that have already applied need not reapply. The students that apply will need to have completed the Valley College application, the online orientation and the assessment.
