Commercial and Instrumental Music
Students learn hands-on by playing a variety of instruments, reading music, participating in performance band, orchestration, and leadership specifically as they can be used in the music performance and production industries. Students learn to digitally record and produce music for use in commercials and videos. Students learn and practice all of the CTE Standards for Career Readiness.
Courses:
Music Production and Recording Arts 1 and 2 - This pathway strand is for students who play (or want to learn) stringed instruments and other orchestral and stage-band instruments. Students also learn recording techniques, editing, production, and stage setup in preparation for a career in the music industry.
CTE Marching and Colorguard 1 and 2 - This pathway strand is similar to the Music Production and Recording Arts strand, except that it is for students in the Marching Band and Colorguard. These students have the opportunity for large-scale community engagement events where they get to play together as a marching band.
