Visual Media and Digital Arts
The Visual Media and Digital Art pathway is a 3-year pathway with a 4th year option. Students may begin this pathway in their 9th or 10th grade years.
CTEArt Level 1 - students learn the foundations of art, principles of design, compositional techniques, how to critique artwork, drawing with pencil and in mixed media, painting and color theory. Students also explore careers in art. Students learn the fundamentals of Adobe Illustrator.
CTEArt Level 2 - students explore and practice techniques including lighting and shading, op art, water color, and continued experience with analysis and critiquing. Students use what they have learned to design marketing posters and children’s book illustrations.
CTEArt Level 3 - students learn the roots of animation and create their own animations and illustrations. Students advance their practice in the use of light and color and analysis of works of art.
