Engineering Pathway

The Engineering pathway is a 3-year Project Lead the Way sequence of courses that includes Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering and Digital Electronics. Students may begin the Engineering pathway in their 10th grade year.

Intro to Engineering Design - students learn the process of designing solutions to constructing needed parts for a build of any size, technical sketching, CAD modeling, additive manufacturing techniques including 3D printing, and reverse engineering. Students who perform well can earn college credit in this course. Students can also earn industry-recognized certification in SolidWorks CAD proficiency.

Principles of Engineering - students complete hands-on building, and learn to design and use simple and compound machines, automation and mechanisms, computer coding, use of materials based on their characteristics, and tensile testing.

Digital Electronics - students learn design and soldering of electric circuits, binary numbers and computation, electronic displays, sequential logic.

Students may also participate on the competitive and award-winning Robotics Club Team. Students who complete this pathway are frequently well-positioned to earn scholarships and entrance into highly-ranked universities.
